Hello!
I started this newsletter four years ago as a personal passion project and a way to keep my family and friends informed about my life across the pond at university, and I love every minute of putting it together each month. Choosing to study abroad for my college career in its entirety in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, a tiny, three-street town on the North Sea, I graduated in 2024 after four years of unique opportunities in travel and education alike. I spent summers stateside with my parents in rural New Jersey, on their farm where they grow and sell peonies, interning with a local newspaper and a luxury pajama company in nearby NYC.
Currently interning with the print editorial team at Garden & Gun magazine (a literal dream position I’ve waited three years to apply to) in Charleston, SC, I can usually be found failing to practice restraint in a bookstore, curating travel itineraries, or working on a new breakfast recipe in the kitchen—but editorial work is my one true love. I’m lucky to have so many magical things in my life. This is my way of writing it all down.
Sent to you like a newsletter and read like a blog post (due to my habit of rambling on and using the em dash to excess), this publication heads right for your inbox on the first Sunday of each month and I recommend reading it over your morning brew or in your favorite pair of pajamas. It’s mostly musings about university and work, travels, and my favorite things (of which I have a great deal), so if that sounds like your cup of tea, welcome and I’m happy to have you along!
Subscribe and stay up-to-date!
Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. It’s 100% free and arrives once a month, so there’s no reason not to!
Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox, but if you’d rather read it more like a blog post and less like an email, head on over to the website where you can see current and past newsletters.
Emails from Substack tend to end up in your promotions or social email folders…so make sure to add Grace Notes to your primary inbox and never miss an issue!
Sincerely yours,
Grace
